In 1967 started working at the Philips Electronic Centre, Naenae, Lower Hutt as an electronics apprentice
Boarded at 97 Naenae Road, Lower Hutt until 1972 then bought a house at 69 Maungaraki Road, Korokoro.
In 1973 bought a house at 106 Wellington Road, Wainuiomata and lived there until 1983.
In 1983 moved to 22 Tarawa Street, Paekakariki and was there until 199?
Studied part time at Hutt Valley Polytechnic from 1967 to get a New Zealand Certificate in Engineering (Telecoms) in 1969
Lead the Test Equipment section at Philips until 1987. Involved in manufacture and repair of test equipment.
In 1988 started employment with Hutt Valley Polytechnic, Petone campus as a computer studies and electronics tutor.
Progressed to Course Supervisor and then Head of School.
Specialty teaching area was Programming and web development.
